Navy Veteran
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Joaquín Sánchez proudly carries his Puerto Rican heritage wherever he goes. After enlisting in the United States Navy, he developed the discipline, resilience, and leadership that would underpin his martial-arts career. While competing as an amateur MMA fighter, Joaquín was first introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu—and instantly recognized its transformative power.
He committed himself to the art, training under Jean “Dalua” Cartagena of A-Force Jiu-Jitsu, where he sharpened both technique and mindset. Progressing through the belt system and becoming a multi gold medalist in regional and national BJJ tournaments. With determination and dedication Joaquín earned his black belt in Oct 2023.
Today, Professor Sánchez makes his home in San Antonio, Texas, directing classes out of his school in Pleasanton. With infectious enthusiasm and clear, patient instruction, he welcomes newcomers by teaching fundamentals step by step, while offering experienced students advanced drills and strategic insights to refine their timing, leverage, and overall game.
More than a coach, Joaquín is a mentor: he believes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu builds confidence, mental fortitude, and community. Joel santiago
Joel Santiago is a dedicated Brazilian Jiu Jitsu First Degree Black Belt, having trained since the age of 16. With over 15 years of daily, intensive practice—often up to eight hours a day—he has built a career rooted in discipline, competition, and passion for the art.
Over the years, Professor Santiago has competed in numerous tournaments, including IBJJF and Jiu Jitsu World League events, as well as early submission-only, no-time-limit competitions. His most recent competition appearance can be viewed through the

He earned his Black Belt in 2019 under Evaldo Lima of Neutral Grounds Gracie Jiu Jitsu in California and was awarded his first degree in 2022. After taking a brief hiatus for personal reasons, Professor Santiago relocated to Texas in July 2025, where his passion for training and competition was reignited.
Now returning to the mats, Professor Santiago is committed to both his own continued growth and to sharing his experience with the next generation of students.

NEVAEHA SANCHEZ
Nevaeha Sanchez has been immersed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since the age of five, making the mats a second home for most of her life. In August 2025, she proudly earned her Blue Belt, a milestone that reflects years of dedication, discipline, and growth in the art.
Throughout her journey, Nevaeha has competed in prestigious organizations such as AGF, NAGA, and IBJJF, earning multiple gold medals along the way. Her success in competition is a testament to her technical skill, perseverance, and passion for the sport.
Now, as she begins this exciting new chapter as a kids coach, Nevaeha is eager to share her knowledge and experience with the next generation of students. She is committed to helping young athletes build strong fundamentals, gain confidence, and develop a love for Jiu-Jitsu—just as she did when she first stepped on the mats.
